Christmas Tour of Some of My Favorite Things

Hi it's Nancy , I would like to invite into my home for a little Holiday Tour of my favorite things which is my new built ins . I have always loved to decorate and I'm always doing home projects, this Fall I designed a built in bookcase for the back wall in my living room. It has a mini split in the middle of it and it has been a nightmare to work around it.

I'm so happy with the results - they just added a whole new warmth to the room.
Now the best part - I get to decorate them. I collected my nuts and berries so I could see what I had to work with.

I than started with spreading around the frames. The Holidays are all about family to me , so they came first. My room is painted gray and I highlite with a beautiful shade of turquoise. I tried to add a little pop to each shelf .

Than I just made little vignettes on all the shelfs, stood back and looked and moved a few things around for balance - hope you like

I made this cute little banner using some really cute paper , I also added some little saying to some of the frames and made a few cards all using Canvas Corp Products .

Christmas Tree Skirt

One of my favorite projects I made this season was this tree skirt, very easy to make.
Canvas Corp sells plain burlap tree skirts just waiting for you to decorate them . I found this great ribbon at Home Goods that I thought would be perfect for it - it was actually a win win situation because I loved the wooden spool it was attached to - can't wait use it in another project.  Since I don't sew , I got out my trusty hot glue gun and tacked the ribbon in place every three inches - came out great - but I would certainly recommend sewing it on if you do sew .

Still needs just a little bit more decorating since I haven't wrapped any presents yet. I think a saying will do - yes Merry Christmas. I went to my stencil collection and pulled out foam alphabet stamps - perfect !! Even though they should have been in with my stamps . I love working with Perfect Paints - they have a fabulous shimmer . I just used a sponge brush to apply the Perfect Paints Shimmering Matte Acrylic- color Shadow and pressed it onto the burlap - make sure you cover the surface underneath.  I than cut out a few snowflakes with my Sizzix Machine and Canvas Corp canvas sheets .
So simple ----

Canvas Corp

I'm so excited to be part of the Canvas Corp Crew! I love painting and stenciling on all their fantastic products. They carry such a great assortment of products from home decor items, canvas bags, paper, paints, sprays, and much much more. Make sure you check out their site at http://canvascorpbrands.com !

For my first project I had to make a 4x4 canvas that reflected my style.  I always try to inspire my students to add their personal touch to their projects that they make in my classes. I love when everyone starts out with the same pieces but they  can look so different in the end.

I'll Be Home For Christmas

G

I love to create these beautiful home decor canvases. They make such a great personal gift that will be treasured for years.
I used my favorite @Perfect Paints and beautiful fabric and papers from @Canvas Corp to create this unique piece. Here's how I did it!

First, I painted the inside of the canvas using Perfect Paints Shimmering Matte Acrylic Bright Gold and Red Wagon. When dry, I mixed a little Bright Gold into Pearl Plaster and stenciled. If your stencil doesn't fit the piece, let dry and continue in sections. I just love the effect - it really looks like flocked paper.

Next cut out imagines from Canvas Corp Farmhouse Christmas fabric and papers. I love the the fact that this line is black and white so I was able to customize my embellishments . I used Perfect Paints Shimmering Matte Acrylics Bright Gold, Red Wagon, Moss Green, Vintage Mercury, Shadow, Aged Copper and Halo.

Lastly, place your embellishments and picture in desired locations and glue.

Super easy and Fun !!!!

First I used Tim Holtz tattered leaves die to cut out a bunch of leaves. I than painted them using Perfect Paints shimmering matte acrylics Cantaloupe, Cajan Pumpkin, Aged Cooper, Red Wagon and Bright Gold - love these names - .
I wrapped a straw wreath with burlap and glued my leaves in place - add a bow and hang up.

I love these whimsical stamps by Lawn Fawn. These cute little critters inspired me to create a 3-D scene, so I decided a Faux Shadow Box would be just perfect. So fun !!!
