Christmas Tour of Some of My Favorite Things

Hi it's Nancy , I would like to invite into my home for a little Holiday Tour of my favorite things which is my new built ins . I have always loved to decorate and I'm always doing home projects, this Fall I designed a built in bookcase for the back wall in my living room. It has a mini split in the middle of it and it has been a nightmare to work around it.

I'm so happy with the results - they just added a whole new warmth to the room.
Now the best part - I get to decorate them. I collected my nuts and berries so I could see what I had to work with.

I than started with spreading around the frames. The Holidays are all about family to me , so they came first. My room is painted gray and I highlite with a beautiful shade of turquoise. I tried to add a little pop to each shelf .

Than I just made little vignettes on all the shelfs, stood back and looked and moved a few things around for balance - hope you like

I made this cute little banner using some really cute paper , I also added some little saying to some of the frames and made a few cards all using Canvas Corp Products .

Christmas Tree Skirt

One of my favorite projects I made this season was this tree skirt, very easy to make.
Canvas Corp sells plain burlap tree skirts just waiting for you to decorate them . I found this great ribbon at Home Goods that I thought would be perfect for it - it was actually a win win situation because I loved the wooden spool it was attached to - can't wait use it in another project.  Since I don't sew , I got out my trusty hot glue gun and tacked the ribbon in place every three inches - came out great - but I would certainly recommend sewing it on if you do sew .

Still needs just a little bit more decorating since I haven't wrapped any presents yet. I think a saying will do - yes Merry Christmas. I went to my stencil collection and pulled out foam alphabet stamps - perfect !! Even though they should have been in with my stamps . I love working with Perfect Paints - they have a fabulous shimmer . I just used a sponge brush to apply the Perfect Paints Shimmering Matte Acrylic- color Shadow and pressed it onto the burlap - make sure you cover the surface underneath.  I than cut out a few snowflakes with my Sizzix Machine and Canvas Corp canvas sheets .
So simple ----
